Professor Erika George delivered the Annual Lloyd K. Garrison Lecture on Environmental Law on Monday, November 15, on "Incorporating Human Rights: Corporate Responsibility, Equity, and Just Environments."
ǿմý has named Jennifer M. Holmes, PhD, an internationally recognized leader in arts education, as its new executive director of the ǿմýSchool of Performing Arts (PPA).
“Improving outcomes for patients and reducing healthcare costs increasingly depend on employees who understand the interface of healthcare and data analytics, information technology and evidence-based clinical improvements,” said Marcus Tye, dean of the College of Health Professions. “Pace’s online MSHI, as a joint program of the College of Health Professions and the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Studies, uniquely addresses this need with shared expertise in health professions and computer science.”
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at ǿմý is pleased to announce that five new members have joined its Board of Visitors. All five new members are alumni of the Law School. The new members include Jeffrey Delaney, Susan Galvao, Paul Humphreys, John Lettera, and Chris Wallace.
Elisabeth Haub School of Law Professors Narinder Kakar and Nicholas Robinson, along with Dr. Vesselin Popovski, Jindal University, recently published a book that they co-authored together titled, Fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals: On a Quest for a Sustainable World. They came together, along with contributing authors Professors Joseph Morreale and Anna Shostya, and ǿմý President Marvin Krislov to discuss the book in the timely context of the recent COP26 climate change conference.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law has established a Food Pantry program on campus available to students and their families who need food assistance.
“Sanitation Celebration,” an exhibit featuring art created by New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) employees, opened with a public reception on November 14. Together, the Sanitation Foundation, the official nonprofit of DSNY, and ǿմý Art Gallery are pleased to present this in-person art exhibit sponsored by Mack Trucks.
The innovative program expands access to vital legal education for healthcare professionals in a post-pandemic era.
The $499,354, five-year award will allow to continue expanding the BEDE (Biological and Environmental Data Education) Network, with the aim of establishing a diverse, wide-reaching community of college instructors “trained in integrating data science skills across introductory biology and environmental science curricula.”
ǿմý is among a small number of schools to receive grant funding from the New York State Department of Education to increase diversity within the teaching profession throughout New York.
