is partnering with ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ to conduct a community needs assessment of programs and services available to residents. In partnering with The Helene T. and Grant M. Wilson Center for Social Entrepreneurship at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, The Community Fund is seeking to identify the types of services and resources available to residents, and to address any potential gaps or inadequacies in areas such as human services, health care, housing, public safety, day care, and recreation, among other vital community needs.

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has been awarded two grants from New York State to upgrade science laboratory space and purchase equipment to help address a critical need for more clinical lab technicians and nurses in the region.

On September 1, 2021 the American Nurses' Association called for the Department of Health and Human Services to declare a national nurse staffing crisis. Nurses provide 90% of all care to patients in hospitals. Images from the pandemic brought the work of nurses into the spotlight – nurses were rightly deemed heroes – and in fact, they and other healthcare providers worked at great risk to their own health and that of their families.
