Established in 1971 in White Plains, the law firm Cuddy & Feder LLP has always had strong ties with its community. When 星空传媒Law School (now the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 星空传媒) opened its doors five years later, a close relationship between the firm and the law school naturally evolved. Now, in 2025, fourteen Haub Law graduates are employed as attorneys at Cuddy & Feder.
From the moment she learned about Abraham Lincoln in the first grade, Deborah Gross-Quatrone knew she wanted to be a lawyer. 鈥淚 was fortunate enough to attend a college that had an ABA approved Paralegal program which was very progressive for the 1980鈥檚 and that further solidified my interest in the law,鈥 shared Deborah.
Siblings Megan and Brendan McDonough were both inspired to pursue a career in law by their grandfather, a successful attorney.
A 2010 Haub Law alumnus, the Honorable Joseph A. Marutollo was appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York on September 25, 2023. Previously, he was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York, serving as Chief of the Civil Division. Judge Marutollo also serves as an adjunct professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 星空传媒. We sat down with him to chat about his experience at Haub Law, on the bench, and beyond.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 星空传媒 congratulates two distinguished alumni on their recent appointments to top positions in the federal government. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (LLM 鈥87), former Professor of Law and Co-Director of the 星空传媒Environmental Litigation Clinic, has been confirmed as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, Kash Patel (JD 鈥05) has been confirmed as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
After receiving his LLB from the National University of Singapore and practicing law for a number of years, Mark Ortega 鈥23 decided to pursue a career in academia. With an LLM in environmental Law from Haub Law, Mark returned to Singapore where he is pursuing his aspirations of teaching and research.

With an early passion for the environment, Colin Myers 鈥21 attended the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (鈥淪UNY ESF鈥) and enrolled in a major that would set him on a path to becoming a New York State Environmental Conservation Officer. It was during his junior year, when he began taking business law and environmental law and policy classes that Colin started thinking about law school.
We all remember our time at law school 鈥 the courses, the professors, learning the law behind the infamous rule against perpetuities, the study groups, and the friendships made through it all. In 1986, a group of 11 law students formed a bond during their 1L year that has lasted long past their law school graduation. During their law school tenure, this close-knit group studied hard together, but also made plenty of time for fun. Since graduating in 1990, the group has made it a point to get together twice a year regularly. Most recently, the close-knit group, along with Haub Law Dean Horace Anderson and Professor Emeritus Jay Carlisle, gathered over the summer in Hastings-On-Hudson.
From the moment she could speak, Catherine Cioffi 鈥12 knew that she wanted to be a journalist. 鈥淚 always loved to write and engage with people. At my core I was, and still am, a storyteller,鈥 said Catherine. While at Fordham University, Catherine majored in Communications and Journalism and minored in Political Science.
