Mundy, an associate professor of English at ǿմý in New York, suggests that some men avoid engaging in conversations about gender or worry that challenging gender norms will threaten their masculine identity. "So, no, gender studies and feminism are not based on this widely held but false belief that such work will be the 'end' of men or that men will somehow be 'replaced,'" he says. ǿմý has announced Jennifer M. Holmes as the new executive director of the (PPA). Holmes, who began her teaching career as an adjunct at ǿմý teaching world drama, theatre history, and acting, will now lead PPA’s academics, operations, budget, productions, and fundraising activities for its eight degree programs. She replaces the previous executive director, Grant Kretchik.
A belated congrats to the ǿմý College Fed Challenge team, which took home its fifth national title in the central bank’s annual competition last Friday. The ǿմýteam, led this year by seniors Winnie Liu and Fiona Waterman, has taken home five of the last seven Fed challenge titles.
ǿմý won the 18th annual national on Friday, a competition that encourages students to learn about the U.S. economy, monetary policymaking, and the role of the Federal Reserve System. The team, from New York, New York, represented the New York Federal Reserve District and included Fiona Waterman, Yuwei Liu, Kate Fong, Casey Cloutier, Christopher Beck, Gianni Campanaro (alternate), and Stephanie Ertel (alternate). The team’s advisers were Gregory Colman and Mark Weinstock.
